Terryaki Chicken

Terriyaki Chicken

A semi-homemade Japanese classic!

Servings 2-3

4 boneless skinless chicken thigh (cut to 1” pieces)

1 tbsp garlic powder

1 tbsp onion powder

Salt and Pepper (to taste)

¾ cup Mr. Yoshida’s Gourmet Sauce

1 tbsp cornstarch mixed in ¼ cup cold water

2 tbsp roasted sesame seeds

2 tbsp canola oil (or other oil good for stir-frying)

  1. Heat wok or large sauté pan to high.  Add oil until slightly smoking.
  2. Season chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.  Place in wok and stir fry until golden brown or done.  Right before chicken is done add sesame seeds for to unlock flavor.
  3. In separate sauce pan, pour Mr. Yoshida’s Gourmet sauce.  Place heat on high and reduce down (approximately 10 minutes.)  Add crush red pepper or Thai peppers now if you like a spicier sauce.
  4. Once sauce has reduced, add cornstarch mixture to thicken. Bring back to a boil and then remove from heat.
  5. Pour sauce over cooked chicken.  Serve with Jasmine rice.

Other ingredient options: Stir-fry vegetables – onions, broccoli, zucchini, carrots, etc.
